HOMER PROJECT

ILIAD - ODISEA

by Guillem Cluá
by ALBERTO CONEJERO

SYNOPSIS

The Young Company confronts two of the pillars of western literature: the  Iliad  and the Odyssey . Two of the most in-form playwrights on the Spanish scene, Guillem Clua and Alberto Conejero, put together this risky and courageous theatrical proposal to talk about the origin of Europe, war, homeland, hope and our identity.

Iliad

Nine years after the kidnapping of Helen by Paris, the Achaean army has managed to put Troy under siege. The war seems to be coming to an end, but Achilles withdraws from the battle after a dispute with King Agamemnon. That decision will change the course of the war and cause the tragedy to run amok on both sides.

Odyssey

Ten years have passed since the Trojan War ended and Odysseus has not returned to Ithaca. There, his wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus, are still waiting for him. The suitors squander the wealth of the kingdom and dispute the throne. Telemachus then decides to undertake the journey and find out the fate of his father. It is the beginning of a double journey, that of Ulysses and that of Telemachus, full of adventures, sirens, cyclops and all sorts of mysteries.
